28 de feb. de 2023 · The NTG Drama School was founded in 1930, since when it has operated in tandem with the GNT. In its 80 year history a number of its graduates have gone on to become major actors and stars of the National Theatre.
The purpose of the Drama School is to train and provide guidance to young people intending to enter the acting profession. The course lasts three years and is free of charge. Its classes come into three categories: Acting is taught by professional actors and directors. It has three teachers a year.
The establishment of the Drama School of the National Theatre in 1930 was a milestone in the development of theatrical education in Greece. The necessity of methodical training of actors, in accordance with European practices, had been repeatedly expressed in the newly established Greek state.
Director and actor Simos Kakalas delivered a seminar on the use of a theatre mask at the educational program of the Drama School of the National Theatre. Working with masks, puppets, video projections and live music on stage, Simos Kakalas is constantly searching for new narratives and techniques. May, 2022

The National Theater began to expand its operations and in 1901 a drama school was opened. The same year, the Royal Theatre opened its doors to the public with a monologue from Dimitris Verardakis' play Maria Dozapatri and two Greek one-act comedies: Dimitris Koromilas' The Death of Pericles and Charalambos Anninos' Servant Required .
