Major-General Lord Albert Edward Wilfred Gleichen KCVO CB CMG DSO (15 January 1863 – 14 December 1937) was a British courtier and soldier. Early life and family history.

Although of German origin with the hereditary title of Count, Edward Gleichen was very much an Englishman. He was distantly related to Queen Victoria and served as a Page of Honour in the 1870s. He was born on 15 Jan 1863 and was 18 when he joined the Grenadier Guards.
Her brother, Lord Edward Gleichen (1863–1937), a professional soldier, wrote several books. Her sister, Lady Feodora Gleichen (1861–1922) was a sculptor.
