Concept Album (1992) This concept recording features Linda Eder as Marguerite, Chuck Wagner as Percy, and Dave Clemmons as Chauvelin. Peabo Bryson sings the part of Armand. The duet "You Are My Home" (sung by Bryson and Eder) reached the top 40 A.C. Charts.

In the original version, two members of the company sing “Lullaby,”and then Marguerite and Armand sing “You Are My Home.” They’re joined at the end by the other prisoners – it’s a moving choral piece. See it performed on Rosie O'Donnell here: Next scene: inside a jolting carriage, Armand slips several times, saying Percy (rather than the Pimpernel)...

The Scarlet Pimpernel started as a workshop with Carolee Carmello as Marguerite and directed by Nick Corley, following a concept album (and Top 40 Adult Contemporary Hit - "You Are My Home"). The musical debuted on Broadway at the Minskoff Theatre on October 7, 1997 in previews, officially on November 9, 1997.
