Theodore R. Hostetter (October 19, 1870 – August 3, 1902) was an American heir, businessman, polo player and yachtsman during the Gilded Age.
Hostetter was one of three children born to Theodore Hostetter, a wealthy Pittsburgh sportsman, gambler and socialite, and his wife, Aileen Tews. The Hostetter family's wealth came from Hostetter's Celebrated Bitters, a tonic containing a great deal of alcohol.

Theodore Rickey Hostetter was born in Pittsburgh, USA in October 1897. His father, also named Theodore, was a wealthy businessman whose wealth came from the product Hostetter’s Stomach Bitters – a tonic which also contained a lot of alcohol. Theodore Snr was also a renowned gambler and sportsman.
On April 10th, 1889, The Hostetter Company was incorporated by the widow and surviving children of David Hostetter, with D. Herbert Hostetter being president and Theodore R. Hostetter, vice president.
The Hostetter House. The Hostetter House, once known as the Hostetter Mansion, was built in the late 1890s. Theodore R. Hostetter, who inherited a fortune from his father’s manufacture of “Hostetter’s Bitters”, purchased 196 acres of land from the Potter/Braden families in 1892 and 69 acres from Joseph Allen, Jr. in 1893.
