Hutt Intermediate School (HIS) is a state intermediate school located in Lower Hutt, New Zealand. The school was founded in 1948, and currently [when?] has a total number of 685 students and a teaching staff of 45. The principal, until the end of 2006, was Neil Withington.
Firstly, being a large school we are able to target all of our resourcing and programmes at the social, cultural and academic needs and interests of 11-13 year-old children. That is the beauty of an intermediate school. Our entire focus is on a specific and very important age group.
