In 1968 during the six-day war Dassin filmed a documentary in Israel called “Survival” (Hamilchama al Hashalom). For the film he interviewed David Ben Gourion, Moshe Dayan etc. In 1968 for Paramount Dassin filmed a remake of the “Informer” with an all black cast and music by a young black composer Booker T. Jones.
