George X ( Georgian: გიორგი X, romanized: giorgi X; c. 1561 – 7 September 1606), of the Bagrationi royal dynasty, was a king ( mepe) of the eastern Georgian kingdom of Kartli from 1599 until his death. Life. George was the eldest son of Simon I of Kartli and his wife, Nestan-Darejan of Kakheti.
Soon after coming into power, George II of Kakheti launched an expedition against Kartli, intending to depose King David X and conquer his kingdom. David's brother Bagrat successfully defended the kingdom and managed to capture George II in an ambush.
David X (Georgian: დავით X) (1482–1526) was the second king of the Georgian Kingdom of Kartli from 1505 to 1525. He associated with the throne from his childhood, he became king on the death of his father and must therefore suffer invasions from both Imereti and Kakheti.

The Kingdom of Kartli, centered in eastern Georgia with its capital at Tbilisi, emerged from the fragmentation of the united Kingdom of Georgia in 1478 and existed until 1762 when it merged with the neighboring Kingdom of Kakheti.
