Sir John Salusbury (1567 – 24 July 1612) was a Welsh knight, politician and poet of the Elizabethan era. He is notable for his opposition to the faction of Robert Devereux, 2nd Earl of Essex, and for his patronage of complex acrostic and allegorical poetry that anticipated the Metaphysical movement.
Thomas’ brother and successor to the estate upon his execution, John Salusbury, managed to somewhat restore the reputation of the family after successfully defeating his cousin Captain Owen Salusbury of Holt in a duel after he was found under suspicion for recent illegal activities as a mercenary.
FFOWC SALUSBURY, his second son, had become dean of S. Asaph before 1505 and held the appointment until his death in 1543. Three others had acquired estates of their own: Henry Salusbury at Llanrhaeadr, Robert Salusbury at Plas Isa, Llanrwst, and John Salusbury at Bachymbyd.

John Salusbury. The English poet, Sir John Salusbury was the son of the famous Katheryn of Berain. He inherited the estate in 1586 at only twenty years old. He married Ursula, the daughter of Henry Stanley, 4th Earl of Derby, in the same year.
