The Cheerful Fraud. Summaries. Sir Michael Fairlie meets Ann Kent, a social secretary to the Bytheways, during a rainstorm in London, and though she snubs him, he promptly falls in love. He intercepts Simmons, an employee of the family, and, buying off his job, he introduces himself as Simmons at the Bytheway residence.
You have to be a pretty hardcore-Denny to love The Cheerful Fraud (1926). It does deliver on it's name of being cheerful, but not many major laughs or anything to make it anything other than your very standard time waster. A young man fakes his identity to impress a girl.
