By coincidence, it is 38 years today that Shostakovich died, on 9th August 1975, and 63 years yesterday that Miaskovsky died, on 8th August 1950, so I will be playing the CD later as tribute to these two great composers! As for the performer....you really can't go wrong with Julian Lloyd Webber, 1st class playing as always!
