High Gear is the first studio album by the American hard rock band Howe II, released in 1989 through Shrapnel Records. Howe II was a short-lived group fronted by guitarist Greg Howe and his brother Albert Howe on vocals.

You can easily hear the influence of Eddie Van Halen even though Greg Howe's style developed way different over the years and the student clearly has become a master himself. Also features a guest appearance by guitarists Mike Varney (Guitar Master) and Jason Becker (ex-David Lee Roth/ex-Cacophony).
