5 de may. de 2023 · The 1911 Durbar was historic for two reasons. It was the only one attended by the Emperor himself and this was where the shifting of the imperial capital from Calcutta to Delhi was announced....
The royal couple arrived in their Coronation robes, the King-Emperor wearing the Imperial Crown of India with eight arches, containing 6,100 diamonds, and covered with sapphires, emeralds and rubies, with a velvet and miniver cap all weighing 34 ounces (965 g).

Victoria’s proclamation was the central event of the jalsah-i qaisari, a massive imperial assemblage otherwise known in English as the Delhi Durbar.
