Johnson's terror campaign is carried out by his men, led by Ben Rankin, and hired gun Johnny Dawson, who is also known as "The Cyclone Kid." Johnson's plan is also furthered by the local sheriff and Federal court Judge Phillips, who have done nothing because they, too, work for him.

Synopsis by Hal Erickson. The time-honored "homesteaders vs. cattlemen" plot device is given another go-round in the Republic western The Cyclone Kid. John James plays Dr. Dawson, a young phsyician who tries to rally the local settlers against the despotic cattle barons.
A young doctor rejects his older outlaw brother Johnny who put him through medical school by dubious means. The brothers find themselves on opposite sides of a range war between homesteaders and a crooked cattleman.
Johnny Dawson, the Cyclone KId, is a professional gunfighter in the employ of Big Bill Johnson (Alex Callam), cattle rancher who objects to ranchers homesteading government land which he considers his own.
