Neil McBain (15 November 1895 – 13 May 1974) was a Scottish professional football player and coach. He remains the oldest player to appear in an English Football League match aged 51 years.

10 de may. de 2021 · Neil McBain died in hospital back in Ayr, aged 78, on May 13, 1974. On his death, the Liverpool Echo described him as ‘one of the most remarkable characters in professional football’ and ‘one of the most travelled men in the game’.
As of 2022, the team competes in the EFL Championship, the second-highest level of the English football league system. Three people – Len Goulden, Neil McBain and Quique Sánchez Flores – have taken charge of the club on two occasions, while Graham Taylor had three stints as manager of the club.
