Millersburg Military Institute (MMI) was a military boarding school founded in 1893 in Millersburg, Kentucky, about 30 miles (48 km) northeast of Lexington, Kentucky. It closed in 2014.
Historical Marker # 2407 in Millersburg commemorates the Millersburg Military Institute (MMI), which was established in 1893. Colonel C. M. Best, a native of Virginia, founded the MMI in the former Kentucky Wesleyan College building on Main Street.

During a visit to Millersburg in the late 1800s, Col. C. M. Best decided that the area was perfect for a military training school. MMI opened in 1893 and operated as a college preparatory academy for boys in grades 6-12. MMI had more than 250 students at its peak, but enrollment declined throughout the 2000s. MMI closed in 2006.
Mustard Seed Hill has sought to restore the historic Millersburg Military Institute property to its former glory, while honoring the rich tradition and legacy. Even before it’s past as the home of the military institute, the Millersburg community was home to another institution of Kentucky education.
