The London Muddy Waters Sessions is a studio album by Muddy Waters, released in 1972 on Chess Records. A follow-up to 1971's The London Howlin' Wolf Sessions, the concept was to combine American bluesmen with British and Irish blues/rock stars.

Released in 1972, The London Muddy Waters Sessions was a follow-up to 1971's The London Nowlin' Wolf Sessions, constituting two of the earliest supersession blues albums. Both brought together the cream of the crop of the UK rock scene in order to back a Blues master.

1 de ene. de 1972 · Following in the footsteps of his fellow Chicago blues legend Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters journeyed across the big pond in 1972 to record an album with some of British rock's leading lights.
Beginning in the late 50's US Bluesmen were invited to London to be paired up with London musicians for what became known as the London Sessions. Those bluemen included the likes of Big Bill Broonzy, John Lee Hooker, Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters and even rock and roller Chuck Berry.
