Merchant Taylors' School is an 11–18 boys public day school, founded in 1561 in London. The school has occupied various campuses over its lifetime. From 1933, it has been located at Sandy Lodge, a 285 acres (115 ha) site close to Northwood in the Three Rivers district of Hertfordshire.
As of 18th March 2024, Merchant Taylors' School will no longer be accepting 13+ applications. This change does not affect current offer holders for Year 9 entry in 2025 and 2026. History. Prior to becoming Merchant Taylors’ Prep in September 2015, the school was known as Northwood Prep and/or Terry’s. The school was founded by Francis Terry in 1910, its original location being on the premises of St. John's Church, Northwood, Hertfordshire.
