Craig's Wife is a 1928 American silent drama film directed by William C. deMille and starring Irene Rich, Warner Baxter and Virginia Bradford. It was based on the 1925 play Craig's Wife by George Kelly. Subsequent film adaptations followed in 1936 as Craig's Wife and 1950 as Harriet Craig. [1]

Craig's Wife is the title of two films based on the play of the same name: Craig's Wife (1928 film), a silent film starring Irene Rich, Warner Baxter and Virginia Bradford. Craig's Wife (1936 film), starring Rosalind Russell and John Boles.
Irene Rich stars as Harriet Craig, whose obsession with material possessions and immaculate neatness results in misery for all concerned. Harriet's husband (Warner Baxter) remains blind to his wife's selfishness-until his eyes are opened when he is implicated in a double murder.
Craig is eventually cleared of suspicion in the murder (discovered to have been a murder-suicide) and, realizing at last the selfishness of his cold wife, he leaves home, taking Ethel with him and encouraging her to return to college and love.
