One of America's most beloved entertainers, Jimmy Durante starred in more episodes of Four Star/All Star Revue than any other host. His act was similar to that seen on his other radio and TV shows, including the trademark, "Good night, Mrs. Calabash, wherever you are."
Comedy variety shows were popular in America during television’s first decade of prominence in the late 1940s – early 1950s. One popular series that used this format was NBC’s All Star Revue, which starred Martha Raye and a rotating roster of big-name show business stars as weekly hosts.
Danny plays a frustrated husband whose movie-crazed wife imagines everyone she sees is a star. Eleanor Powell performs two dance production numbers. June Havoc portrays self-absorbed vaudeville diva Cushions La Fay. A production number with the cast looks at the then-crazy idea of a woman president.
