Peter Robinson (17 March 1950 – 4 October 2022) was a British-born Canadian crime writer who was best known for his crime novels set in Yorkshire featuring Inspector Alan Banks. He also published a number of other novels and short stories, as well as some poems and two articles on writing.

Peter Robinson is most known for his Inspector Banks series, set in Yorkshire town of Eastvale. His very first-novel, Gallows-View premiered in the year 1987, and introduced the world to Detective-Chief-Inspector-Alan Banks.

Crime writer and Leeds alumnus Peter Robinson died after a short illness last year. The Leeds-born novelist was well known as the author of the best-selling DCI Banks novel. As the final installment in the DCI Banks series is published, we will be celebrating Peter’s work in a special event.
