The Pinhoe Egg is a children's fantasy novel by British author Diana Wynne Jones published by HarperCollins Children's Books in 2006. It was the last published of the seven Chrestomanci books (1977 to 2006).
The Pinhoe Egg. In the villages near Chrestomanci Castle, the Pinhoes keep their magic secret so they don't attract Chrestomanci's attention. But as relations between the Pinhoes and their neighbor Farleighs turn sour, Chrestomanci's young apprentice, Cat Chant, is drawn into the mess when he befriends Marianne Pinhoe, the future family head.
