Arthur Stanley Ramsey (9 September 1867 – 31 December 1954) was a British mathematician and author of mathematics and physics textbooks. [1] He was Fellow of Magdalene College, Cambridge, and its President from 1915–52.

He came from the kind of background that has produced many Anglican bishops and clergy. Born on November 14, 1904, in the calm precincts of the university town of Cambridge, he belonged to an academic family. His father, Arthur Stanley Ramsey, was a Fellow and then President of Magdalene College, Cambridge.
