Began shooting November 18, 1991. The film was adapted almost verbatim from the play; William Shakespeare receives sole writing credit. Two previous adaptation of Shakespeare's play "As You Like It" have appeared on screen; a silent version in 1912 and in 1936 under the direction of Paul Czinner.
