Ernest Roland Wilberforce (22 January 1840 – 9 September 1907) was an Anglican clergyman and bishop. From 1882 to 1896 he was the first Anglican Bishop of Newcastle upon the diocese's creation, and from 1896 to 1907 he was Bishop of Chichester .
Before joining Wilberforce, Ernest received a first-class degree in Jurisprudence, with various academic awards, and proceeded to complete the BCL with Distinction. Ernest is a seasoned mooter and has represented the university in various national and international moots.
Ernest Wilberforce (brother) Albert Basil Orme Wilberforce (14 February 1841 – 13 May 1916) was an Anglican priest and author in the second half of the 19th century and the first two decades of the 20th. He was the Chaplain to the Speaker of the House of Commons and Archdeacon of Westminster .
