In 1990, she co-wrote the Grammy-winning gold record “Tokyo Blue” with the saxophonist Najee. Omar played on that record and four others with Najee. Together they worked with guitarists Jimi Tunnel and Al Di Meola – on the latter’s 1990 album “Kiss My Axe.”
