In the first of the 13 Texts Beckett accomplishes the difficult task of presenting us clues enough so we can determine that the I All citations are from Samuel Beckett, Stories and Texts for Nothing (New York: Grove Press, Inc., 1967). Beckett's translation of his own original French text presents few problems.
