The new album is called FUNKY ABBA – and Nils can call it that with much justification, through his long-standing friendship with Benny Andersson. Twenty-five years ago, on the strength of his special trombone sound, Benny asked the fresh-faced Nils to join him in the studio to play on the ABBA song “Voulez-Vous”.
Landgren, who once played trombone himself on the ABBA hit “Voulez-Vous”, personally asked ABBA mastermind Benny Andersson for his blessing for the album: “ABBA was never funky. But if you can do it, then do it!” replied Andersson.

A finales del mismo año Benny se casó de nuevo, esta vez con Mona Nörklit, con la que tuvo un hijo, Ludvig, en 1982. Benny fue el principal autor de la música de ABBA, ayudado parcialmente por su compañero Björn Ulvaeus, quien luego escribía las letras. Actualmente, Benny se dedica a su banda Benny Andersson Orchestra.
