Love in a Fallen City (傾城之戀) is a 1943 Chinese-language novel by Eileen Chang. [1] The translation is included in the New York Review of Books "Classics" series. [2] The story focuses about a love story that triumphed during the wartime Hong Kong.

Love in a Fallen City is a 1984 Hong Kong film directed by Ann Hui. It was adapted from the novella of the same name by Eileen Chang, and produced by Shaw Brothers Studio. The movie stars Chow Yun-fat and Cora Miao as the romantic leads.
The title story, Love in a Fallen City, is a tale of two cities in transition - old Shanghai and modern Hong Kong - with the Japanese invasion of 1941 as a subtly structured backdrop, and owns one of Chang's rare hopeful endings.
