David Mark Rylance Waters ( Ashford, Kent, 18 de enero de 1960) es un actor, director de teatro y dramaturgo inglés. Egresado de la Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, comenzó su carrera en 1980 en el Citizens Theatre de Glasgow y luego en la Royal Shakespeare Company, de la que fue miembro hasta 1989.
Sir David Mark Rylance Waters ( / raɪləns /; born 18 January 1960) is an English actor, playwright and theatre director. He is known for his roles on stage and screen having received numerous awards including an Academy Award, three BAFTA Awards, two Olivier Awards and three Tony Awards.
On television, he won the BAFTA TV Award for Best Actor for his role as David Kelly in the 2005 Channel 4 drama The Government Inspector and was nominated for an Emmy, Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild Award and BAFTA TV Award for playing Thomas Cromwell in the 2015 BBC Two miniseries Wolf Hall.

Mark Rylance is an English actor known for his work in film, television and theatre. Rylance started his career with the Royal Shakespeare Company acting in numerous productions of William Shakespeare 's work such as The Tempest (1982), A Midsummer Night's Dream (1986), Hamlet (1989), and Romeo and Juliet (1989).
Actor: Bridge of Spies. Mark Rylance was born in Ashford, Kent, the son of Anne (née Skinner) and David Waters, both English teachers. His grandmother was Irish. His parents moved to Connecticut in 1962 and Wisconsin in 1969, where his father taught English at the University School of Milwaukee.

Después de entrenar en la Real Academia de Arte Dramático de Londres, Rylance hizo su debut profesional en el Citizens Theatre de Glasgow en 1980. Fue el primer director artístico del Shakespeare´s Globe Theatre entre 1995 y 2005, copia exacta edificada en el lugar del teatro original.
