Philip R. Craig (December 10, 1933 – May 8, 2007) was a writer known for his Martha's Vineyard mysteries. Biography. He was born in Santa Monica and raised on a cattle ranch near Durango, Colorado. In 1951 he attended Boston University intending to become a minister, and got a degree in 1957.

Philip Craig. From a very early age, Philip has never been far away from pencils, paper and the smell of paint. Encouraged by his parents, he attended specialized art programs in Ottawa eventually graduating from the prestigious Sheridan College of Art & Design in 1971.
I wrote my first novel (GATE OF IVORY, GATE OF HORN) during my noon lunch breaks in the back room of Al's Package Store in Edgartown, where I worked summers. It was published in 1969, when I was 35. My second (A BEAUTIFUL PLACE TO DIE) was published in 1989, when I was 55.

8 de may. de 2007 · Author Philip R. Craig passed away on May 8, 2007 after a brief battle with cancer. Phil left three completed novels, which have now all been published posthumously. Vineyard Stalker came out in June of 2007 just after Phil's death.
