Roy Lee Jones. As one of 12 children, Roy spent most of his childhood growing up on a farm in a small town in Arkansas. Roy enjoyed school, helping his father with farming, and he started singing in the church choir at the age of 8. Roy took on most of the farming duties when his father became disabled by a stroke when he was only 13 years old.
