Linda Purl. Actress: Mighty Joe Young. Linda Purl was born in Greenwich, Connecticut, and raised in Japan, becoming the only foreigner to train at the Toho Geino Academy. At the Imperial Theatre in Tokyo, she played the role of "Louis" in "The King and I" (in Japanese), "Bet" in "Oliver" and the role of "Helen Keller" in "The Miracle Worker".

Her studies continued at Neighborhood Playhouse and Lee Strasberg Institute. She was Co-Founder of the Colorado Festival of World Theatre, Executive Director from 2004-2008.
