Matthew James Vogel (born October 6, 1970) is an American puppeteer, actor and director. Vogel has worked for Sesame Workshop and The Muppets Studio. He has performed for the Muppets, Sesame Street, and Oobi. He has been the performer of Kermit the Frog since 2017 and the full-time performer of Big Bird since 2018.
Matt Vogel (b. October 6, 1970) is an accomplished puppeteer who joined the Sesame Street troupe in 1996. He later joined The Muppets family of characters, inheriting several roles while working with Jerry Nelson, and was cast as Kermit the Frog in 2017.
Matt Vogel is one of the core Disney Muppet Performers and a principal Sesame Street Muppet Performer. For the Disney Muppets, Matt plays Kermit the Frog, Sgt. Floyd Pepper, Uncle Deadly, Lew Zealand, Crazy Harry, Dr. Julius Strangepork, Camilla, Sweetums, Pops, ‘80s Robot, and “The World’s Most Dangerous Frog” Constantine.
Matt Vogel was born on 6 October 1970 in Kansas City, Kansas, USA. He is an actor and director, known for Sesame Street (1969), Muppets Haunted Mansion (2021) and Muppets Now (2020). He has been married to Kelly C. McDonnell since 31 August 1997. They have five children.
