Kieran James Read ONZM (born 26 October 1985) is a New Zealand former rugby union player. He played as a number 8 and is a former captain of the New Zealand national team, the All Blacks. Read played for New Zealand from 2008 to 2019.

All Blacks great Kieran Read’s storied playing career came to an end over the weekend as Toyota Verblitz were beaten in the Japanese Top League semi-finals. Read, who wore the famous black jersey for more than a decade, had already walked away from the test arena with his final international appearance coming at Rugby World Cup 2019.
Kieran Read is an All Blacks legend who retired from the game in 2021. In total, he was capped 128 times by New Zealand and racked up a host of domestic and international honours, including two Rugby World Cups and four Super Rugby titles.
