John Edward Hollister Montagu, 11th Earl of Sandwich (born 11 April 1943), is a British businessman and politician. He was a crossbench member of the House of Lords from 1995 to 2024.
As of 2017, the titles are held by his eldest son, John Montagu, the 11th Earl of Sandwich, who succeeded him in 1995. Lord Sandwich is one of the ninety elected hereditary peers that remain in the House of Lords after the passing of the House of Lords Act 1999, and sits as a cross-bencher .

Montagu’s tumultuous romantic relationships cultivated his unfavorable public perception. Montagu’s first marriage ended after his wife, Dorothy Fane, was designated as “insane” and “became a ward of the court.” Their son eventually inherited the title fifth Earl of Sandwich.
