  1. Gary Lynn Stevens (born March 6, 1963) is an American Thoroughbred horse racing jockey, actor, and sports analyst. He became a professional jockey in 1979 and rode his first of three Kentucky Derby winners in 1988.

He had more than 5,000 career wins, including victories at the Kentucky Derby (1988, 1995, and 1997), the Preakness Stakes (1997, 2001, and 2013), and the Belmont Stakes (1995, 1998, and 2001).

  5. In 2016 he captured the Longines Breeders' Cup Distaff aboard Beholder, defeating previously unbeaten Songbird by a nose at the wire, in Beholder's last career start and third Breeders' Cup win. Stevens retired in November 2018 after suffering a spinal injury at Del Mar, which he recovered from.

  6. Gary E. Stevenson was sustained to serve as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles on October 3, 2015. At the time of his call to the Twelve, he had been serving as the Presiding Bishop of the Church since April 2012.
