Ludmila Semenyaka ( Russian: Людмила Семеняка, born 16 January 1952) is a Soviet ballerina, born in Leningrad. She studied at the Vaganova School as a pupil of Nina Belikova [ ru]. She joined the Kirov Ballet in 1970 and later the Bolshoi Ballet in 1972, where she was a prima ballerina.
Jury member of Benois de la Danse. TThe Russian dancer Ludmila Semenyaka hails from St. Petersburg, where she received her classical dance training at the Vaganova Ballet Academy.
Semenyaka wonderfully exemplifies how a representative of a Petersburg ballet manner can “adapt” to a Moscow style, merging in her dance the “calligraphy” of the former with the bravura of the latter. Her real career started at the Bolshoi Theater where she moved in 1972.
Ludmila Semenyaka was born in St Petersburg in 1952. She studied at the Vaganova School (pupil of Nina Belikova). Graduated into the Kirov Ballet in 1970. She joined the Bolshoi in 1972, after working for 2 years with the Kirov-Mariinsky.
