NEW YORK (AP) — Frank Thomas, a three-time All-Star with his hometown Pittsburgh Pirates who later became the top hitter on the expansion New York Mets, died Monday. He was 93. Thomas played for the Mets from 1962-1964. He hit 34 homers in 1962, a franchise mark that stood until 1975 when Dave Kingman slugged 36 home runs.
