James Richard Atkin, Baron Atkin, PC, FBA (28 November 1867 – 25 June 1944), commonly known as Dick Atkin, was an Australian-born British judge, who served as a lord of appeal in ordinary from 1928 until his death in 1944.
After more than twenty years practice as a barrister, Atkin became a judge of the King's Bench division of the High Court in 1913 and was awarded a knighthood. In 1919, he was appointed Lord Justice of Appeal and a member of the Privy Council, and finally in 1928 he became Lord of Appeal in Ordinary and was created Baron Atkin of Aberdovey.

Born 28 November 1867, in Brisbane, Australia, eldest son of Robert Travers Atkin of Fernhill, co. Cork, a member of the Queensland senate. He was educated at Christ College, Brecon, and Magdalen College, Oxford, where he was made hon. Fellow in 1924.
James Richard Atkin, Baron Atkin (28 November 1867 – 25 June 1944) was a lawyer and judge of Australian-Welsh origin, who practised in England and Wales. He always thought of himself as a Welshman, and was President of the London Welsh Trust from 1938 to 1944.
