Sinopsis. Charles Strickland es un hombre que decide abandonarlo todo, incluidos esposa e hijos, con tal de irse a París. Su mujer cree que la determinación se debe a una amante que debe tener en la capital gala.
The Moon and Sixpence is a 1942 film adaptation of W. Somerset Maugham's 1919 novel of the same name, which was in part based on the life of the painter Paul Gauguin. Dimitri Tiomkin was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Music, Scoring of a Dramatic or Comedy Picture. Two versions were filmed.
With George Sanders, Herbert Marshall, Doris Dudley, Eric Blore. Loosely inspired by Gauguin's life, the story of Charles Strickland, a middle-aged stockbrocker who abandons his middle-class life, his family, and his duties to start painting, as he has always wanted to do.
