Eskew Reeder, Jr. (November 20, 1935 or 1938 – October 23, 1986), usually known by the stage name Esquerita (/ ˈ ɛ s k ə r i t ə /), and occasionally as S.Q. Reeder or The Magnificent Malochi, was an American R&B singer, songwriter and pianist, known for his frenetic performances.

Turns out, Little Richard got some of his trademark tricks from another flaming wonder known as Esquerita. Without Esquerita, there might have been no Little Richard, hence no Prince and no Elton John—and no rock ‘n roll as we know it.

Esquerita. La Esquerita aka Eskew Reeder (as in S.Q. Reeder) aka the Magnificent Malochi was an American R&B singer songwriter and pianist, who has been an influence on Little Richard according to some sources.
While Little Richard and Esquerita certainly ushered in an effeminate twist and turn to outrageous performance styles, they were hardly the sole originators of such developments.
