Edward John Stanley, 2nd Baron Stanley of Alderley, PC (13 November 1802 – 16 June 1869), known as The Lord Eddisbury between 1848 and 1850, was a British politician. He served as Postmaster General between 1860 and 1866.
His great-grandson, the sixth Baronet, was a Gentleman of the Privy Chamber. His eldest son was the seventh Baronet, who was elevated to the peerage in 1839. See above for further succession. The Right Reverend Edward Stanley, second son of the sixth Baronet, was Bishop of Norwich.

James II Stanley, Lord of Mann, 10th Earl of Derby, 6th Baron Strange (1664–1736) succeeded his great niece in 1732 as 6th Baron Strange. Succeeded by James Murray, 2nd Duke of Atholl in the Barony of Strange and the Lordship of Man as heir general and by his 6th cousin and heir male in the Earldom of Derby.
In 1869 he inherited hereditary titles upon the death of his father, Edward John Stanley, 2nd Baron Stanley of Alderley, becoming Henry Edward John Stanley, 3rd Baron Stanley of Alderley and 2nd Baron of Eddisbury, and the first Muslim member of the House of Lords.
