Edward Seymour, 8th Duke of Somerset (December 1694 or early 1695 – December 1757) was an English peer and landowner.

Edward Seymour, Duke of Somerset is one of the most well-known of Henry VIII's courtiers. Although the duke was most influential under the reign of his nephew, King Edward VI, it was during the reign of Henry VIII that Seymour started his ascent at the Tudor court.
Sir Edward Seymour, 6th baronet of Berry Pomeroy (1694–1757) became the 8th Duke of Somerset in 1750. The 1st baronet was (Sir) Edward Seymour (1556–1613), son of Edward Seymour (1527/1535–1593) who was the 1st Duke's eldest son and of Catherine Seymour (née Filliol).

On 22 January 1552 Edward Seymour, Duke of Somerset, was beheaded at Tower Hill watched by a large crowd. Despite orders from the government for the citizens of London to remain in their homes that morning, a great multitude had gathered to watch the final moments of the ‘Good Duke’.
Edward Seymour, 1st Duke of Somerset, 1st Earl of Hertford, 1st Viscount Beauchamp KG, PC (1500 – 22 January 1552), also known as Edward Semel, was an English nobleman and politician who served as Lord Protector of England from 1547 to 1549 during the minority of his nephew King Edward VI.
Edward Seymour, 1st Viscount Beauchamp, 1st Duke of Somerset, 1st Earl of Hertford KG (1506–1552) Dukedom forfeited in 1552. Married firstly in 1527 (divorced 1535) Catherine Filliol, daughter and coheiress of Sir William Filliol of Filliol's Hall.
