Prince Saionji Kinmochi (西園寺 公望, 7 December 1849 – 24 November 1940) was a Japanese politician and statesman who served as Prime Minister of Japan from 1906 to 1908 and from 1911 to 1912. He was elevated from Marquess to prince in 1920.

14 de dic. de 2011 · Prince Saionji Kinmochi (西園寺 公望, 1849-1940) was a Japanese aristocrat, politician and twice Prime Minister of Japan. He was the last member of the genrō, the senior statesmen who shaped Japan during the Meiji era.
He became the chairman of the Privy Council in 1900, and president of the Rikken Seiyukai (Friends of Constitutional Government Party) in 1903. In 1906, he became Prime Minister and from then on assumed that office alternately with Taro Katsura.
