  1. Archibald Hamilton, 9th Duke of Hamilton and 6th Duke of Brandon (15 July 1740 – 16 February 1819) was a Scottish peer and politician.

  2. Archibald Hamilton was the eldest son of James, 5th Duke of Hamilton, by his third wife, Anne Spencer. His half-brother was James, 6th Duke, whose two sons (Archibald's nephews) James George and Douglas succeeded him as 7th and 8th Dukes, respectively.

  3. The Duke of Hamilton is the Premier Peer of Scotland, and the Hereditary Keeper of the Palace of Holyrood House, Edinburgh. The 15th Duke succeeded his father, Douglas Douglas-Hamilton (1903-1973), 14th Duke of Hamilton and 11th Duke of Brandon.
