VIAF. Poet, translator, and politician. Educated at Christ Church, Oxford. Succeeded to the title of 3rd Baron Holland on his father’s death in 1774. Travelled through Spain and Italy after graduating. Met Elizabeth Vassall, wife of Sir Godfrey Webster in Naples, and married on 6 July 1795.
