Among Mihailo's descendants and prominent members of this branch were his grandson Andrei Miloradovich (1726–1796), a governor, and, most importantly, Mikhail Miloradovich (1771–1825), a Russian general who stood out in the course of the Napoleonic Wars.
In the confusion, the Emperor's envoy, Mikhail Miloradovich, was assassinated. Eventually, the loyalists opened fire with heavy artillery, which scattered the rebels. Many were sentenced to hanging, prison, or exile to Siberia. The conspirators became known as the Decembrists (Russian: декабристы, romanized: dekabristy ).
Russian General. 1770-1825. Mikhail Miloradovich was a career soldier who commanded Russia's rearguard during the mass evacuation of Moscow. His earlier campaigns had been against the Turks and Poles and he fought with General Suvarov against France in Italy and Switzerland.
