Hinrich Lohse (2 September 1896 – 25 February 1964) was a German Nazi Party politician and a convicted war criminal, best known for his rule of the Reichskommissariat Ostland, during World War II. Reichskommissariat Ostland comprised the states of Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia, and parts of modern day Belarus.
Hinrich Lohse (* 2. September 1896 in Mühlenbarbek; † 25. Februar 1964 ebenda) war ein deutscher Kaufmann, Bankangestellter und nationalsozialistischer Politiker. Von 1925 bis 1945 war er Gauleiter in Schleswig-Holstein. Von 1933 bis 1945 war er Oberpräsident der Provinz Schleswig-Holstein.

Hinrich Lohse, who reported to Alfred Rosenberg rather than the SD's boss, Heinrich Himmler, wanted not so much to exterminate the Jews but rather to steal all their property, confine them to ghettos, and use them as slave laborers for Germany's war effort.
The official appointed for Ostland was Hinrich Lohse, the Oberpräsident and Gauleiter of Schleswig-Holstein. Local government in the Reichskommissariat was to be organized under a "National Director" (Reichskomissar) in Estonia, a "General Director" in Latvia, and a "General Adviser" in Lithuania.
