Alan Tindal Lennox-Boyd, 1st Viscount Boyd of Merton, CH, PC, DL (18 November 1904 – 8 March 1983), was a British Conservative politician. Background, education and military service. Viscount Boyd of Merton, of Merton-in-Penninghame in the County of Wigtown, is a title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. It was created in 1960 for the Conservative politician and former Secretary of State for the Colonies, Alan Lennox-Boyd.
While on an official visit to Aden he was presented with three South Arabian antiquities by the sheikh of Baihan, and which he lent to the British Museum from 1959 until they were purchased by Museum in 1995 from his widow, Patricia, Viscountess Boyd (q.v.); 1959, presented a small collection of Audhali items from Yemen to the Museum.
