James Butler, IX Conde de Ormond y II Conde de Ossory (1496 - 28 de octubre de 1546), conocido como El Cojo, era hijo de Piers Butler, VIII conde de Ormond y Margaret Fitzgerald, Condesa de Ormond.
James Butler, 9th earl of Ormond and 2nd ear of Ossory, died 9 days later, on 28 October. He was buried in a Butler family tomb (since destroyed) at the Chapel of St Thomas d'Acres in London. His heart was conveyed to St Canice's Cathedral at Kilkenny.
